Named for the measurement for the melting of polar ice caps, the politically active and socially conscious band are sure be addressing climate change this time around. They have also hinted at a personal voyage through the making of the album, sure to surface in the songs.

“Making this record was a long journey,” guitarist Mike McCready shared in a statement. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on ‘Gigaton’ ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times."

On Monday, Pearl Jam also released the tracklist for Gigaton.

Along with the new album comes a North American tour, kicking off on March 18 in Toronto and stretching through April 19 in Oakland. You can find the full list of dates here. Stay tuned for more details on how you can be a part of this trek across the country, coming later this week.
